Q: What are the ceremony and reception specifics?

A: Our wedding begins at 3:30 pm on Sunday July 3, 2005. A reception at the Bear Paw Lodge will immediately follow the wedding ceremony (our best guess for the start of the reception is 5:45pm). Dress is as casual or as dressy as you want although flat shoes are recommended because of the walk to the ceremony site....There are plenty of parking spaces available adjacent to the Bear Paw Lodge. There is also a complimentary shuttle for guests staying at the Canaan Valley Lodge to and from the reception site. The shuttle will start to pick up lodge guests around 3:00pm and will run continuously back and forth until 11:15 PM Children are invited to attend the ceremony and the reception. We recommend that you bring a blanket or an easy to carry folding chair as there may be some waiting around before the ceremony. Click here for our wedding itinerary and for details on the rehearsal supper and the Paul & Ali hosted cocktail party.

Q. Where can we stay?

A: There are several lodging options to choose from and are detailed below in order of proximity to the reception site

Option 1: Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center (the most convenient):

We have a variety of lodge rooms blocked at Canaan Valley Resort under the Kelly/Neff Wedding. All rooms include: in-room coffee makers, telephone, high speed Internet access, iron/ironing board, hairdryers, alarm clock and individual climate control. Canaan Resort requires a 2 night minimum stay because our wedding takes place on a holiday weekend (although some guests have reported being able to rent just a sunday night stayover if you don't mention our wedding) . There is an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool, hottub and hiking and biking on site.

Types of Lodge rooms and rates:

  1. Single occupancy standard room: $82.00 per night
  2. Double occupancy, standard room: $89.00 per night
  3. Efficiency (see pictures below), $149.00 per night
  4. Executive King (see pictures below), $105.00 per night

Option 2: Deer Field Village Townhouses: (approximately 3 miles from wedding site)

Choose from one ($184 per night), two ($208 per night), three ($243 per night), and four-bedroom ($288 per night) villas. Each villa includes a stone fireplace (firewood provided), balcony, private deck, grill, Jacuzzi (in most units), TV/VCR, towels, linens, telephone, and washer/dryer. Kitchens are equipped with microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher, dinnerware and cookware.

A variety of vacation homes, such as the one we rented, are available for rent in the canaan valley area from either Timberline Resort Realty or Canaan Realty.
